At Pain to Performance, coach Brent goes way beyond the norm caring for the needs of his low back pain students. The process, from first contact to finishing a treatment program, is deliberately organized in a timely manner to foster success. Every back-pained student is put under the microscope during a three-plus hour assessment, to uncover every minute causing pain. He leverages these insights to prescribe an individualized treatment plan, and then tracks the effectiveness the intervention so that he can improve his clinical expertise.
Due to the limited number of spaces, and the massive amount of time invested in each student's recovery, new students are carefully screened for inclusion. A high degree of self-motivation is required for acceptance. Individuals who have worked with multiple clinicians, will be prioritized. Once accepted, Brent Morehouse will fully commit himself to the success of your recovery.
1
Initial Phone Consultation
During this 20 minute conversation you will share with Coach Brent a brief history of your back pain, current symptoms, and impediments. If we mutually agree that working together is a good fit, you will be scheduled for both A) the in-person McGill Method Low Back Pain Assessment and B) Post Assessment Follow-up Session. You will also receive, through email, all the paperwork, intake forms, and reading assignments needed to prepare for the assessment.
2
Assessment Prep
Coach Brent's intake process for new students is a exceptionally detailed two-week program that has been purpose-built to foster success. From this point on, it is extremely vital that you complete all your reading assignments, provide the greatest amount of detailed information in your intake forms, and gather up your medical images (CD-ROM with images) and reports.

Intensive Pain-free Movement Coaching Program
Following the Post Assessment Follow-up Session, you and Coach Brent will work side-by-side, for six weeks, to build a foundation for pain free movement. You will have reading assignments that you are expected to complete. Every Monday and Friday you will submit your activity logs and recovery journal. This is non negotiable because these efforts on your part result in better prevention and rehabilitation outcomes.
6
Functional Fitness Coaching Program
After all pain triggers have been removed, and pain-free days are consistent, you will then be encouraged to engage in a therapeutic fitness program to enhance injury resiliency. You will meet with Brent at The Strength Yard, where he will guide you through this next step in the journey. This phase is not required and will be dependent on where you live.
