Low Back Pain and Leg Symptoms
Identify and control the pain triggers in pursuit of a more pain-free life

Pain to Performance works with individuals experiencing persistent low back, buttock, or leg symptoms that have not resolved with time, or following standard conservative care.
The objective is to determine whether your symptoms have a modifiable mechanical pattern that can guide a more precise plan going forward.

Who this pathway is for
What is provoking your familiar symptoms, and can we identify a modifiable mechanical pattern?
Pathway #1 is for people whose back problems and familiar symptoms keep getting in the way of life; from morning stiffness and end-of-day discomfort, to intermittent aches and recurring flare-ups.
Whether your goal is to move through the day more comfortably, walk farther, play nine holes, exercise, travel, or simply stop repeating the same flare-up cycle, the McGill Method Assessment can help clarify not just what triggers your familiar pain and symptoms, but what may need to change to help bring them under better control.
This pathway may be appropriate if you have:
✅ Persistent or recurrent low-back pain;
✅ Buttock, hip-region, or SI-region symptoms;
✅ Symptoms into the leg and/or foot;
✅ Symptoms that change with sitting, standing, bending, walking, lifting, or exercise;
✅ You recently experienced a significant flare-up but your symptoms have since settled, either naturally or following medical care, and you want to better understand what contributed to the episode and reduce the likelihood of repeating it;
✅ Recurring flare-ups despite previous physical therapy, chiropractic care, injections, exercise, or other conservative approaches;
✅ You have been given a diagnosis such as sciatica, disc degeneration, disc protrusion, herniation, stenosis, SI-joint pain, or piriformis syndrome.
Prior Conservative Care Requirement: This service is not intended to replace an initial medical evaluation or first course of physical therapy.
If you have already completed physical therapy or another appropriate conservative-care pathway, that history will be considered during screening. If you have not received physical therapy, you may be asked to complete it first or provide acknowledgment from your physician that they are aware you are seeking services from Pain to Performance.

What We Assess
The McGill Method Assessment uses a detailed interview and physical assessment to examine how your familiar symptoms respond to different movements, postures, loads, and activities.
The objective is to identify the mechanical patterns most relevant to your case, understand what increases or reduces symptoms, and use those findings to develop an individualized plan.
When available and appropriate, MRI images and reports are reviewed alongside the mechanical findings to provide additional context.
