Policies & Disclaimers
This page outlines important policies and scope-of-service disclosures for Pain to Performance Center.
1
No Guaranteed Outcomes
Results vary by individual. While the process is structured and evidence-informed, no specific outcome is promised or guaranteed, and improvement depends on many factors including adherence, baseline capacity, sleep/recovery, workload, and medical considerations.
2
Professional Scope Disclaimer (Non-Medical)
Pain to Performance Center services are provided by Brent Morehouse, a McGill Method Certified Practitioner and performance-based coaching professional.
Brent Morehouse is not a licensed medical professional. Services provided through Pain to Performance Center are not medical care. We do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, perform medical treatment, or provide physical therapy services.
Any assessments, recommendations, coaching strategies, educational guidance, or exercise programming are informational and coaching in nature. If you have medical concerns (including new or worsening symptoms), you are responsible for consulting your physician or a licensed healthcare provider.
3
McGill Method Assessment Disclaimer
The McGill Method Assessment is provided as a performance-based biomechanical and exercise consultation and is not medical care.
Clients are responsible for consulting with their physician or licensed healthcare provider regarding medical concerns, diagnosis, imaging decisions, medications, injections, surgical decisions, or treatment planning.
Services are self-pay only and are not eligible for insurance reimbursement or superbill submission.
4
In-Person Service Location
All assessments are provided in-person in East Syracuse, New York.
If remote support is offered as part of a program or follow-up service, it is provided as coaching/education and does not change the non-medical nature of services.
5
Not Emergency Care
Pain to Performance Center does not provide emergency services. If you believe you are experiencing an emergency or serious medical issue, call emergency services or seek urgent medical care.
When to Seek Medical Care (Red Flags)
If you experience any of the following, seek urgent medical evaluation:
-
Loss of bowel or bladder control
-
Progressive weakness, numbness, or major change in sensation
-
Saddle anesthesia (numbness in the groin/perineal region)
-
Fever, unexplained weight loss, night pain, or severe unrelenting pain
-
Recent significant trauma
6
Medical Clearance & Client Responsibility
You are responsible for disclosing relevant health history, red flags, and changes in symptoms, including (but not limited to) new/worsening neurological signs, unexplained systemic symptoms, or post-surgical complications.
You agree to seek medical clearance when appropriate and to follow up with your physician or licensed provider for diagnosis, imaging decisions, medication, injections, surgical decisions, and medical treatment planning.
7
Assumption of Risk (Physical Activity)
Because services may involve movement assessment, exercise instruction, and physical effort, there are inherent risks (including symptom flare, strain, or injury). By participating, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree to perform activities within your tolerance, stop if symptoms escalate, and communicate concerns immediately.
8
Communication & Documentation
Communication (email/text) is provided for scheduling and coaching support as applicable. It is not a substitute for medical evaluation and is not monitored 24/7.
Any written materials (notes, plans, logs, summaries) are provided for education/coaching purposes and should not be interpreted as medical advice.
9
Privacy & Records
Client information is handled respectfully and kept private to the extent reasonably possible for a coaching practice. Pain to Performance Center is not a medical clinic, and communications may not be protected under medical privacy laws in the same way a healthcare provider’s records are.
Information may be shared with other professionals only with your written permission, unless required by law.
10
Right to Refuse or Discontinue Services
Pain to Performance Center reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if:
-
You are outside the scope of services provided,
-
You require medical management beyond coaching/education,
-
You engage in abusive, harassing, or unsafe behavior,
-
You repeatedly violate scheduling/payment policies.
